Kids Discover Squaw Peak

On Wednesday, July 10th, my brother Kirk suggested that we drive up to Squaw Peak and watch the sun set.  Gary and I used to go there when we lived in Utah - especially when we were dating, but he always drove.   I don't like driving mountain roads - fear of height's kicks in - but I told Kirk I would follow his car up the road.  If you are looking at the tail lights of the car in front of you, you can't see how far it drops down the side of the mountain at the edge of the road.

When we arrived, some couples looking for a romantic spot may have been put off by the arrival of Kirk's four kids - ages 1 to 10 and my three kids.

This was the closest Arik came to posing for a picture.  He and Seth kept trying to throw rock's down the mountain, break them into two smaller rocks etc.

The view was gorgeous.  My kids had never seen anything like it.  Of course the pictures don't do it justice.

You can see a few lights starting to appear, but we didn't stay until full dark.  The kids were done.  Besides, I'm glad I didn't have to drive down that road in the dark!
