The Snow Day (or should it be The Ice Day)

No school today due to the icestorm.  All of the trees are covered in a layer of ice when we woke up this morning.  This is a view out the back door.

Look how weighed down the poor crepe myrtle in the neighbors yard is.

Gary went to work at 9:00am instead of 6:00am.  He said the main roads had been plowed and treated and were okay.  Marlee went to work at 4:00pm and is working until 12:30am (Christmas hours).  It isn't supposed to refreeze until after she gets home.

View out the front door.  The neighbors tree is bent over so much it is touching the birdfeeders.

This is panning in on the neighbor's trees so the ice is more visible.

So what to do when the kids and Mom are at home on an icy December day?  Make Christmas cookies!  Darcie made the dough and Darcie and Arik cut most of the cookies out.  Turns out our new granite countertops are excellent for cookie making.
